Why Outside school hours care?

With Vic Kids Eat Well, Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) providers are supported to fuel fun! Nothing beats a healthy breakfast or fruit and vegetable platter after school. OSHC programs play a big role in the health and wellbeing of the children in their care. When children eat well they learn better, are more alert and are more likely to grow and develop to their full potential. That's why many OSHC providers are on a mission to provide delicious, healthy foods and drinks.

Vic Kids Eat Well can help your service meet the healthy eating requirements of the National Quality Standard, Quality Area 2 - Children’s Health and Safety, and provide a healthier environment that supports the health and wellbeing of the children in your care.

What is involved?

Once you register you will be connected with a health promotion professional who will work with you to make healthy changes in your service. Your service may have already made healthy changes to meet the requirements of the National Quality Standard, or may be just beginning. You may wish to start with a ‘small bite’ and make a small change, or a ‘large bite’ and make a bigger change. Work your way through all the bites, collecting rewards and celebrating your success as you go.
