Why should I get involved?

All kids deserve the opportunity for a healthy start. We want our kids to enjoy school, sport and activities in their community in environments that provide delicious, healthy foods and drinks.

That means improving the healthy options that are available where children and young people live their lives and spend their days.

How can you get involved?

Promote Vic Kids Eat Well in your community

If you are a parent, guardian or a concerned community member, you can support Vic Kids Eat Well and our movement by:

• Inviting your local school, Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), sports club, or community/council run facility to join the Vic Kids Eat Well movement today. 
  

  Send an email invitation to the decision maker

• Engaging with the Vic Kids Eat Well resources for parents, guardians and advocates.

Advocate for change

All children should be able to go live their lives free from unhealthy food and drink marketing.

The processed food industry spends millions of dollars every year targeting Australian kids with marketing for unhealthy food and drinks. As big food companies make more and more profit, it is our kids' health that’s at risk.

• You can advocate for a community free from unhealthy food and drink marketing by adding your support to the Obesity Policy Coalition’s Brands off our kids! campaign . The campaign supports four actions for a childhood free from unhealthy food and drink marketing.
• You can also check out the Obesity Policy Coalition’s what you can do page which outlines further resources, tips and actions you can take to drive change in your community.
