We’re boosting tasty, nutritious food and drink options so kids can learn, play and be active. Hello healthy canteens, lunch orders and events!
Watch this video case study to see how this Outside School Hours Care Service (OSHC) service added nutritious options as part of the free state-wide Vic Kids Eat Well movement.
Fresh fruit platters, veggie-loaded curries and delicious zucchini slice are now on the menu, helping kids before or after a busy day of learning and playing. Also hear how they received on-the-ground support to add healthy food for kids from a local health professional as part of Vic Kids Eat Well.
Vic Kids Eat Well supports schools, outside school hours care, sports clubs and a wide range of community organisations to offer healthier food and drink options for kids.
With simple bite-sized changes that make a big impact, kids are being better nourished to learn and be active. Under this initiative, school canteens are swapping sugary drinks for water, boosting colourful vegetables in meals, and sports clubs are offering more half-time fruit options and adding veggies to BBQs.
Hundreds of organisations from around Victoria have already joined the movement to boost kids’ health and wellbeing.
Join Vic Kids Eat Well for free today and your organisation will receive support from a local health promoter, along with resources and rewards to celebrate wins.
